Love

Love
03.09.08

Love is like the sun.

It is the center of the solar system.
The planets revolve around it.
It is the source of life, of warmth, of joy.

Yet it also brings drought to unwatered lands.
It brings dryness to one’s soul.
It scorches one’s psyche,
Until it cries for water,
Until it cries for help.
In desperation, for survival…

Love is a many splendor thing,
But love is also terrifying,
Even terrible at times.

Yes, love creates, nourishes, inspires
But it also destroys and shatters and put people in despair.

What love is, one can decide.
And that is the beauty of love.

Being Happy

Being happy

Happiness

Such an elusive word,
Like love.

Letting go,
Keeping great memories,
Losing the past,
without forgetting the lessons,
Forgiving oneself,
Seeing oneself as human,
Loving oneself as one should be
By accepting that one is capable of hurting
and causing pain,
Without being permanently cruel and heartless,
But just because of one’s nature of being a fool.

Yes, every human is a fool.
Every human doesn’t learn from other people’s mistakes.
They have to learn by committing these mistakes by themselves.
And that leads to happiness…

Absurd but true
because it paves the way to acceptance…

Acceptance

Such a difficult word,
Like love.
But inevitable,
Still like love.

Being happy is difficult.
But possible.
Through acceptance and grace and love…

breaking FREE

I remember a picture that I had always chosen to represent myself way back in high school. It was a gloomy picture of a high brick wall with barbed wire on top. I told my classmates that I had chosen that because it represented the Doris who is afraid to let people in, in her life. I guess I am still that Doris. Well, maybe the wall had been lowered down. But it is still there, with the barbed wire.

As I open this blog, I declare my resolution to tear down that wall together with the barbed wire. Not for people to gain access to my privacy needlessly, but to allow them to experience the beauty that had always been inside that wall. Experience and enjoy! J
